Everyone loves Cupcakes

We have had an especially crazy week! Shawn in Brazil, Rachel at camp, floors being installed (hooray!), and extra puppy duty for Ian. We were feeling a little tired last night and felt in the mood for a treat. I was surprised at how much my own mood lifted as I got my first tast of frosting on that cupcake. Nice to have the laminate floors under the table now, so even cleaning up the mess afterward didn't seem so bad. (I'm sure that will last for about 3 days.)

Blackberries or BlackBerrys

Rachel was invited to go with a friend to the beach at Lake Michigan today. Last night when she was discussing with our family what they'd be doing, she mentioned that they might pick blackberries. Ian said, "No fair, you get to have a phone?!" No...not yet. : ) Who'd have ever guessed that blackberries the fruit could have been replaced by an electronic gadget. Funny, but sad.

Hello?

Hailey is loving the phone these days! Mostly the buttons, but she tries to listen and will sort of make up a response. The word she says the best is "Hi". We love watching her say it, because she sticks out her arm as far as she can reach it, and stares and repeats herself until she gets the desired response.
